這篇文章的結(jié)構(gòu)是較為復(fù)雜的，包含了三個(gè)相對(duì)獨(dú)立的部分。第一段是寫(xiě)人們需要朋友的原因可從兩個(gè)方面來(lái)寫(xiě)。第二段是寫(xiě)什么是真正的友誼，可從三個(gè)方面來(lái)寫(xiě)。第三段是寫(xiě)自己在交友之中的原則，可從兩個(gè)方面來(lái)寫(xiě)。

【參考范文】 On Making Friends
As a human being, one can hardly do without a friend. Living in the society, only when a person has friends can he live a happy and colorful life. Whats more, in this modern society where communication becomes so important, ones ability to form and maintain lasting friendship has been regarded as a necessity for a successful career.
As to what true friendship means, my opinion is as follows. First of all, true friendship originates from sincerity of both parts, and only sincere friends will give us a hand when we are in need of help. Second, no matter whether they are similar or different, genuine friends should be able to get along, share experiences and exchange ideas with each other. Last but by no means the least, since no one is perfect, we should learn tolerance and forgiveness, which are essential to an enduring friendship.
As far as I an concerned, my principle in making friends is that friends can be few but must be well chosen. In the first place, I would like to make friends with those who are honest and conscientious. In the second place, once the selection is made, I will trust him and offer him help whenever need arises.

【結(jié)構(gòu)點(diǎn)評(píng)】
第一段和第三段都分兩個(gè)方面來(lái)寫(xiě)。第一段的.第一點(diǎn)沒(méi)有使用連接詞，這時(shí)第二點(diǎn)前的連接詞就要有所選擇，可能用whats more, moreover, furthermore等等。第三段的兩點(diǎn)前都使用了連接詞，這是就應(yīng)與三點(diǎn)或三點(diǎn)以上的段落有所區(qū)分。大家看到，首段與末段在這里使用了不同的方法，顯得相得益彰。
第二段分三個(gè)方面來(lái)說(shuō)，應(yīng)注意連接詞的配套使用這里是從最重要的說(shuō)到最不重要的，所以分別使用了first of all, second, last but by no means the least。
【妙筆生花】
第一段的第二句使用了現(xiàn)在分詞短語(yǔ)作狀語(yǔ)，之后使用了only開(kāi)頭的倒裝句，突出了朋友的重要性而后有形容詞平行的用法。第三句中的介詞短語(yǔ)作狀語(yǔ)非常值得學(xué)習(xí)，這里關(guān)系副詞where引導(dǎo)的定語(yǔ)從句使其結(jié)構(gòu)簡(jiǎn)單之中又富于變化，具有很強(qiáng)的表意功能。之后的form and maintain lasting friendship表示建立和保持長(zhǎng)久的友誼，form亦可用get或build代替;be regarded as表示被認(rèn)為是，此處動(dòng)詞亦可用consider;其后的a necessity for a successful career非常精彩，請(qǐng)大家學(xué)習(xí)，其中a necessity比necessary 要好，請(qǐng)大家品味，萬(wàn)里for a successful career意義凝凍。
第二段分三點(diǎn)說(shuō)，每一點(diǎn)各有一句話。第一點(diǎn)中的originate from表示源于，而后有sincerity和sincere的連續(xù)使用;而后的give sb. a hand和in need of help分別表示幫助某人和需要幫助，意義恰合。第二點(diǎn)中的similar和different指的是兩種朋友相似的和不同的，而后的genuine呼應(yīng)了上文的true，用來(lái)修飾friend或friendship;之后的動(dòng)詞詞組的平行使用。第三點(diǎn)中先說(shuō)沒(méi)有人是完美的，之后說(shuō)我們應(yīng)學(xué)會(huì)容忍(tolerance)和寬恕(forgiveness)，而這對(duì)于持久的友誼是至關(guān)重要的(essential)，其中enduring等于上文的lasting。
第三段的首句是模仿Samuel Paterson名句：Books, like friends, should be few and well chosen。而后分兩點(diǎn)來(lái)說(shuō)。第一點(diǎn)中使用了形容詞的平行，conscientious表示按良心辦事的。第二點(diǎn)中使用one the selection is made這樣的一個(gè)時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句，時(shí)間的錯(cuò)落感就體現(xiàn)出來(lái)了，其后有個(gè)很好的時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句whenever need arises，表示每當(dāng)有需要的時(shí)候。?
