  清明節(jié)介紹英語作文 篇1

Qing Ming is popularly associated with Jie Zi Zhui, who lived in Shanxi province in 600 B.C. Legend has it that Jie saved his starving lords life by serving a piece of his own leg. When the lord succeeded in being the ruler of a small principality, he invited his faithful follower to join him. However, Jie declined his invitation, preferring to lead a hermits life with his mother in the mountains.

Believing that he could force Jie out by burning the mountain, the lord ordered his men to set the forest on fire. To his consternation, Jie chose to remain where he was and was burnt to death. To memorate Jie, the lord ordered all fires in every home to be put out on the anniversary of Jies death. Thus began the "cold food feast", a day when no food could be cooked since no fire could be lit.

The "cold food" festival occurs on the eve of Qing Ming and is often considered as part of the Qing Ming festival. As time passes, the Qing Ming festival replaced the "cold food" festival. Whatever practice is observed, the basic observation of Qing Ming is to remember ones elders by making a special effort to visit their graves, ashes or ancestral tablets. To make the visit even more meaningful, some time should be spent to remind the younger members of the family of the lives and contributions of their ancestors, and the story of Jie Zi Zhui who choose death over capitulation.

Generally speaking, people will bring the home-made food, some fake money and paper-made mansion to their ancestors. When they start to honour their ancestor, they will light up some candles and incense, put some flowers around the tombs. The most important thing is to put the home-made food in front of the tombs. The food, also known as sacrifices, is usually made up with a chicken, a fish and some pork. It’s a symbol of the offspring’s respect to the ancestors. People believe that the forbears will share the food with them. The children dedicate the food and money to their forbears in order to show their love and caring. The young offspring will go down on their knees and pray for their ancestors. They can say their wishes in front of the tombs and the ancestors will make their dreams come true.

In some provinces of China, people use different activities to commemorate this day, for instance, spring-outing, swinging, tree planting and making special food. One special food is Ay Tsao rice balls. It looks like Tang-yuan, but its colour is green. Mix the ay tsao juice with the rice powder, then make it into small balls. The Ay Tsao rice ball is done. People believe that eating ay tsao rice balls can get rid of the bad luck and everything will go smoothly. Other activities such as spring outing, tree planting are the other ways to commemorate the forbears. For one thing, it is a sign that people should look into the future and embrace the hope; for another thing, we do hope our ancestor rest in peace.

But Today, Chinese visit their family graves to tend to any underbrush that has grown. Weeds are pulled, and dirt swept away, and the family will set out offerings of food and spirit money. Unlike the sacrifices at a family's home altar, the offerings at the tomb usually consist of dry, bland food. Turn over the calendar, wow! Tomb-sweeping Day to April 5th, we are a family of three ready money for tribute, ancestral graves.

In the morning, the East just made the first fish maw white, and I began to climb from the bed. This is the first time I have swept the grave for my ancestors, and there is a feeling of indescribable words in my heart.

We put the prepared fruit into the trunk of the car, and I was afraid to dirty it, so that my father could drive the car slowly, at a speed similar to that of the oxcart.

Before I come to the grave, I will lay down the fruit carefully, then draw a circle on the ground, put in the paper money sent to the dead family, and prepare the firecrackers. With the crackling firecrackers, the paper money is burned out. My father and mother kneel in front of the grave and knock three sounded heads for our ancestors, bless our family life and peace. Anne.

Back home, mom and we made a meal of pickled cabbage dumplings, eating delicious dumplings, feel have a distinctive flavour.

Qingming Festival is a very meaningful holiday.

  清明節(jié)介紹英語作文 篇9

Today, my father, mother and my aunt went to the grave for my dead grandfather. I put the sheep's stomach gouged out by my grandmother into grandpa's grave, and then burned paper money for Grandpa. As soon as it was lit, a gust of wind suddenly blew and burned the sheep's stomach. The sheep's stomach was lit. My father hurried to save the sheep's stomach. The sheep's stomach was not saved and fell on the firewood nearby.

Soon the hay was also lit. The fire quickly burned to the next big poplar tree. I hurried to my uncle's home and took a shovel to my father quickly. Then he went home and carried a bucket of water. My grandmother saw him and asked, "what's wrong?" I said, "it's on fire!" Grandma also picked up a shovel and ran to the fire. When I was sending water, the fire was not saved, but there was another fire I quickly put to water. Grandma saw me sweating all over my head and praised me painfully that I was the bravest man!

Ah! It's safe at last. Do you think it's dangerous today!

  清明節(jié)介紹英語作文 篇10

Today is the second day of the Qingming holiday. Due to a storm and a shower last night, the temperature dropped a lot, but it doesn't affect our outing.

My mother and I rode a bike to the wetland park. Recently, my driving skills have made great progress. Soon we arrived at our destination smoothly.

There are a lot of people in the park. Some families come to play, and some colleagues and friends walk together. Everyone has a smile on their faces. We walked along the river with our feet on the thick grass. It was very comfortable. The river was very clear. From time to time, we saw a group of small fish swimming. Occasionally, we could see a frog floating on the water, motionless, like enjoying the warm sunshine of spring.

After walking for a while, we saw a small piece of Merlin. Although there were only a dozen branches, each branch was blooming brightly, red like fire, white like snow, emitting a faint fragrance, which made people linger and forget to return.

  I love this beautiful spring.

  清明節(jié)介紹英語作文 篇11

Qingming Festival is a festival to worship ancestors. Dad and grandma went back to their hometown to visit the grave. They were afraid of traffic jam. They went back in advance.

Only me, my sister, my mother and Grandpa were at home. We went to Longgang River to play. I brought a bag with bananas and water in it and began to set out. We took some photos on a big stone. I made an Altman gesture and saw a dead dog in a place like a beach. It's so pathetic.

I asked my grandfather to give me a video. My mother sometimes blocked the camera. I said don't block the star performance. Grandpa laughed. My sister and I walked to a pile of stones and played with the sand. We also saw a rainbow in the sky and the route of the plane. It's so beautiful!

When we got to Longyuan, we went back. On the way, we saw a grass flower snake. Grandpa said the snake was poisonous and told us to go away. When you get home, it's time for dinner.

I had a good time on this tomb sweeping day!

  清明節(jié)介紹英語作文 篇12

On Tomb Sweeping Day, my father, Grandpa and I went to our hometown to worship our ancestors. It's cloudy to rainy there, but I'm going anyway. As soon as we got up the mountain, we began to work. The first is to sacrifice great grandfather, the second is high grandmother, the third is great grandmother, and the last is high grandfather. Let me tell you, our order is from far to near.

Our first job is to weed. Our second job is to kill chickens and pour their blood on paper money. The third job is to Hang paper money next to the cemetery. The last job is ancestor worship. From more than 10 a.m. to more than 3 p.m. The meaning of ancestor worship is: "miss our ancestors and inspire future generations." When I came back, it was drizzling again, which reminded me of the poem my grandfather called me: it rained in succession during the Qingming Festival, and pedestrians wanted to break their souls on the road... It turns out that ancestor worship can also learn so much knowledge!

  清明節(jié)介紹英語作文 篇13

"During the Qingming Festival, it rains in succession, and pedestrians on the road want to break their souls. When I ask where the restaurant is, the shepherd boy points to Xinghua village in the distance." This is the poem "Qingming" written by Du Mu, a poet of the Tang Dynasty.

Today is the annual Qingming Festival again! In the morning, I turned on my computer and saw that people all over the country were remembering the revolutionary martyrs who died bravely for the liberation of the motherland. Some of them presented wreaths, some wore small white flowers and bowed in silence under the martyrs' monument. From the computer, I really knew that our happy life today was bought by the revolutionary martyrs with their blood and precious lives.

Turning off the computer, I thought to myself: martyrs, although you are no longer here today, you will always live in our hearts. You are the pride of China. I want to learn from you, cherish this hard won good life, and contribute to the motherland when I grow up!

  清明節(jié)介紹英語作文 篇14

Qingming Festival is a traditional Chinese festival and one of the 24 solar terms of the lunar calendar. On every tomb sweeping day, people will go to worship their ancestors and visit the tombs of revolutionary martyrs.

This year's Tomb Sweeping Day was cloudy early in the morning. After a while, there was a light rain in the sky. My grandfather, my second grandfather... My aunt, they all bought fruits, flowers and other sacrifices to go to the grave and sweep the grave for grandpa to express their nostalgia for their dead relatives.

I once recited a poem called Qingming. Two of them are written like this, "it rains one after another during the Qingming Festival, and pedestrians on the road want to break their souls." These two poems properly describe the special atmosphere of Qingming Festival.

This special atmosphere makes people's nostalgia linger in their hearts, makes people remember and carry forward the fine traditions of their predecessors, and encourages people to cherish the beautiful life now.
