These are people who have taken career breaks for elder care,for childcare reasons,pursuing a personal interest or a personal health issue. Closely related are career transitioners of all kinds: veterans,military spouses,retirees coming out of retirement or repatriating expats. Returning to work after a career break is hard because of a disconnect between the employers and the relaunchers. Employers can view hiring people with a gap on their resume as a high-risk proposition,and individuals on career break can have doubts about their abilities to relaunch their careers,especially if they've been out for a long time. This disconnect is a problem that I'm trying to help solve.

She's a social worker in Orange County,California,who returned to work in a social services organization after a 25-year career break. That's the longest career break that I'm aware of. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor took a five-year career break early in her career.

Tracy wrote in that she was a mom of five who loved her time at home,but she had gone through a divorce and needed to return to work,plus she really wanted to bring work back into her life because she loved working. Tracy was doing what so many of us do when we feel like we've put in a good day in the job search. She was looking for a finance or accounting role,and she had just spent the last nine months very diligently researching companies online and applying for jobs with no results.

And that is,that people's view of you is frozen in time. What I mean by this is,when you start to get in touch with people and you get back in touch with those people from the past,the people with whom you worked or went to school,they are going to remember you as you were before your career break. And that's even if your sense of self has diminished over time,as happens with so many of us the farther removed we are from our professional identities. So for example,you might think of yourself as someone who looks like this. This is me,crazy after a day of driving around in my minivan. Or here I am in the kitchen. But those people from the past,they don't know about any of this. They only remember you as you were,and it's a great confidence boost to be back in touch with these people and hear their enthusiasm about your interest in returning to work.

So I had to resubscribe to the Wall Street Journal and read it for a good six months cover to cover before I felt like I had a handle on what was going on in the business world again.

And if they're not up to speed,then it's their responsibility to get there. And they do.

That's not the employer's job. It's the relauncher's responsibility to demonstrate to the employer where they can add the most value.

I saw Goldman Sachs and Sara Lee start corporate reentry internship programs. I saw a returning engineer,a nontraditional reentry candidate,apply for an entry-level internship program in the military,and then get a permanent job afterward. I saw two universities integrate internships into mid-career executive education programs.

The company told her there was a possibility it could turn into something more,but no guarantees. This was in the fall of 20xx. Tracy loved this company,and she loved the people and the office was less than 10 minutes from her house. So even though she had a second job offer at another company for a permanent full-time role,she decided to take her chances with this internship and hope for the best. Well,she ended up blowing away all of their expectations,and the company not only made her a permanent offer at the beginning of 20xx,but they made it even more interesting and challenging,because they knew what Tracy could handle.

　　醫(yī)生是另一種藝術(shù)家，通過(guò)與疾病的斗爭(zhēng)，使人們感覺良好，人類的藝術(shù)。我認(rèn)為這是一種樂(lè)趣，盡我最大的努力給別人帶來(lái)快樂(lè)。這是一種驕傲的感覺，我喜歡它。在現(xiàn)代生活中，大量的人為了追求財(cái)富而工作，因此他們忽視了他們的健康。它是已知的，強(qiáng)壯的身體是一種幸福的生活的基礎(chǔ)。我夢(mèng)想成為一個(gè)優(yōu)秀的醫(yī)生，可以幫助他們有權(quán)利享受生活。固化人是醫(yī)生的神圣責(zé)任。

　　Youth is not a time of life,it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks ,red lips and supple knees,it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite ,for adventure over the love of ease. This often existsin a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . Nobody grows old merely by a number of years . We grow old by deserting our ideals.

　　Years wrinkle the skin ,but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul .Worry ,fear ,self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .

　　Whether 60 of 16 ,there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders,the unfailing childlike appetite of what's next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there's a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty ,hope ,cheer,courage and power from men and from the infinite,so long as you are young .

　　When the aerials are down ,and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism,then you are grown old ,even at 20 ,but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism ,there is hope you may die young at 80.

　　青春不是指歲月，而是指心態(tài)。粉嫩的臉，紅潤(rùn)的唇，矯健的膝并不是青春。青春表現(xiàn)在意志的`堅(jiān)強(qiáng)與懦弱。想象的豐富與蒼白、情感的充沛與貧乏等方面。青春是生命深處清泉的噴涌。青春是追求。只有當(dāng)勇氣蓋過(guò)怯弱、進(jìn)取壓倒茍安之時(shí)，青春才存在。果如此，則60見之長(zhǎng)者比20歲之少年更具青春活力。僅僅歲月的流逝并不能使他們衰老。而一旦拋棄理想和信念，則垂垂老也。

　　歲月只能使皮膚起皺。而一旦喪失生活的激情，則連靈魂枯老，使人生枯如死水，毫無(wú)活力。

　　60歲長(zhǎng)者也好，16歲少年也罷，每個(gè)人的內(nèi)心深處都渴望奇跡，都如孩子一般眨著期待的雙眼，期待著下一次，期待著生活的情趣，你我靈魂深處都有一座無(wú)線電中轉(zhuǎn)站------只有你我年輕，則總能聽到希望的呼喚，總能發(fā)出喜悅的歡呼，總能傳達(dá)勇氣的訊號(hào)，總能表現(xiàn)出青春的活力………

　　一旦青春的天線倒下，你的靈魂即為玩世不恭之雪、悲觀厭世之冰覆蓋;即使你年方20.其實(shí)你已垂垂老也。而只要你青春的天線高高聳起，就可以隨時(shí)接收到樂(lè)觀的電波-----即使你年過(guò)八旬，行將就木，而你卻仍然擁有青春，你仍然年輕。

　　I was an orphan,but after marriage husband child caring,smart man,I finally get rid of the shadow of childhood. However,a car accident I was a single mother drop from the clouds,there is no source. I don't want a lifetime on the dole,he decided to return to the university campus. I have to find a better degree work,raising his son grow up. However,there was no family support and encouragement,I soon found that this road is very difficult.

　　One night,at the school the reminder letter,my last defence collapsed. Take care of his son,part-time,class,exam. So many things to deal with,a person can only I alone,tears fell down.

　　My little son saw me cry,and ran away with a toy,a look of concern and anxiety. "Never mind,my mother is too lonely," I explained incoherently,there are a lot of things to do,but no helper"

　　The son looked at with bright eyes: "God is a man made Adam and Eve,he is single parents like you!" his words lightning hit me. I said: "you're too good,my son!" her son,"Mom to this sentence. Tell all the people!"

　　The second day,I borrowed the money and bought 100 coffee cups,printed on the son said: "God is single parents!" I advertised on the Internet,the quilt was sold out. A unit of the Family Association called to book 1000,the semester tuition solved. Whenever I see the desk of the coffee cup always the courage to smile said: "afraid of what God is single parents"

　　第二天，我借錢買了100只咖啡杯，印上兒子的名言：“上帝也是單親家長(zhǎng)!”我在網(wǎng)上打出廣告，被子被搶購(gòu)一空。有個(gè)單位家庭協(xié)會(huì)打來(lái)電話要預(yù)定1000只，那個(gè)學(xué)期的學(xué)費(fèi)就這么解決了。每當(dāng)我看到案頭的咖啡杯，也總能鼓起勇氣，笑一笑說(shuō)：“怕什么，上帝也是單親家長(zhǎng)�！�
