大學(xué)生有必要人手一臺(tái)電腦嗎
With the development of science and technology and the improvement of people's living standard, computer has become an indispensable part of people's life. In universities, almost every student has one computer in the dormitory now, and people have different views about it.
隨著科學(xué)技術(shù)的發(fā)展和人們生活水平的提高，電腦已成為水們生活不可缺少的一部分。在大學(xué)，現(xiàn)在幾乎每個(gè)學(xué)生在宿舍里都有一臺(tái)電腦。人們對(duì)這問(wèn)題有不同的看法。
Some people believe that the computer can promote students' learning. On tbe one hand, as the resources of network education are very bountiful now, computers are helpful for students to broaden their vision and enrich their knowledge; on the other hand，as one of the necessary tools to students'， learning, computers can help students obtain easy access to the new trends of academic development of certain subjects. However, others maintain that the computer will affect the students' learning, since some students are addicted to online games, network chatting, and even some unhealthy content. Moreover, teachers and parents cannot oversee them.
一些人認(rèn)為，電腦能促進(jìn)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)。一方面，由于現(xiàn)在網(wǎng)絡(luò)教育資源非常豐富，電腦對(duì)學(xué)生拓寬眼界和豐富知識(shí)非常有幫助;另一方面，作為學(xué)生必要的學(xué)習(xí)工具之一，電腦能幫助學(xué)生很容易獲取某些學(xué)科的學(xué)術(shù)發(fā)展的新趨勢(shì)。不過(guò)，另外一些人堅(jiān)持認(rèn)為電腦會(huì)影響學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)，因?yàn)橛行⿲W(xué)生對(duì)在線游戲、網(wǎng)上聊天甚至一些不健康的內(nèi)容很上癮。另外，老師和家長(zhǎng)又不能監(jiān)督他們。
As far as college students are concemed, popularity of the computer has both its advantages and disadvantages. But in my view, though I support the former attitude, at the same time, we should be alert to the negative influence of computer.(183 words)。
就大學(xué)生而言， 電腦的普及既有好處也有壞處。但是依我看來(lái)，雖然我支持前一種觀點(diǎn)，同時(shí)，我們應(yīng)該警惕電腦的負(fù)面影響。

The Benefit of Extracurricular Reading
課外閱讀的好處
With the advent of television, computers, and the Internet, reading has become more and more of a rarity.
隨著電視、電腦和互聯(lián)網(wǎng)時(shí)代的到來(lái)，人們用于閱讀的時(shí)間越來(lái)越少。
However, reading books in one's spare time has many benefits. First of all, unlike television or movies, books alIow you to use your imagination to picture the setting, the characters, and their lives. Secondly, reading can be done anywhere there is enough light. It doesn't require electricity, expensive gadgets, or access to the Internet. Thirdly, while reading can be entertaining, it can also help to expand your knowledge on any number of subjects.
但是，閑暇時(shí)間讀書(shū)會(huì)有很多的好處。首先，不同于電視或電影的是，書(shū)籍可以讓你發(fā)揮自己的想象力去描摹背景、人物以及他們的生活。其次，人們可以在任何光線充足的地方閱讀書(shū)籍，不需要電的供應(yīng)、昂貴的儀器設(shè)備或者網(wǎng)絡(luò)。再次，讀書(shū)能怡情，而且可以增長(zhǎng)任何學(xué)科的知識(shí)。
Although fewer people now partake in reading outside the college curriculum, there are plenty of sound reasons for this fact to change. I only hope that we will see an increase in reading outside the college curriculum in the future.(131 words)
雖然課外閱讀的人比以前少了，不過(guò)有很多合理的理由能夠解釋這一事實(shí)。我只是希望將來(lái)更多的人養(yǎng)成課外閱讀的習(xí)慣。
