中國(guó)羽毛球名將、兩屆奧運(yùn)會(huì)冠軍林丹指責(zé)他所在的俱樂部拖欠自己和其他六名隊(duì)員2016-2017賽季的薪金。
林丹在微博聲明中表示：
"Our understanding toward the club has been met with repeated delay."
我們運(yùn)動(dòng)員對(duì)俱樂部的體諒換來的竟是一再的拖延!
"We have communicated with the club many times about the salary payment; however, the club's attitude in solving this has made people feel helpless and disappointed."
我們多次與粵羽俱樂部溝通支付薪金事宜，而至今俱樂部的解決態(tài)度實(shí)在是讓人無奈及失望。
"We did not hold anything back when we were fighting for the club's honor. Please don't let our sweat go to waste."

“拖欠工資”除了上文中的fail to pay以外，還可以用withhold salary或者delay salary來表示。發(fā)工資的時(shí)候，有些單位還會(huì)出現(xiàn)無理克扣工資(unreasonable deductions from paychecks)的現(xiàn)象，更不用說保證發(fā)放加班費(fèi)(overtime pay)了。
被拖欠方“討薪”可以用demand unpaid salary來表示，如果討薪成功，單位“補(bǔ)發(fā)工資”就可以用pay backdated salary表示。這里的backdated就是表示某個(gè)政策或舉措從之前較早的時(shí)間開始計(jì)算。比如，6月份發(fā)出漲工資的決定，但是從1月開始算的，所以會(huì)從1月開始補(bǔ)發(fā)。這種情況就可以說：The increase in pay agreed in June will be backdated to January.
