　　Calorie, 卡路里，是熱量單位。

　　"Low calorie diet," 就是低熱量的飲食。統(tǒng)計數字顯示， "Americans now consume 278 additional calories daily than they did in 1977," 美國人現(xiàn)在每天的卡路里攝取量比1977年的'時候多278卡。

　　美國加州的一個郡通過最新規(guī)定，不達到健康標準的快餐店，不能用玩具吸引孩子用餐。健康標準是什么呢？ "The entire meal cannot exceed 485 calories," 整頓飯的總熱量不得超過485個卡路里。

　　"In 2010, the county was one of the first to require calorie counts on menus," 這個郡2010年還是第一批要求餐館在菜單上標注卡路里數量的郡之一。
