容易“望文生義”的英語短語

　　我們總以為英語短語一定是借此喻彼，內(nèi)涵無限大，生怕自己不小心就會(huì)望文生義。但是其實(shí)有的英語短語真的是你看到的那樣的哦。

　　1.Blood is thicker than water.

　　是不是好直白的“血濃于水”!英文中文真就是一樣的喲~

　　2.Be able to do something in your sleep.

　　中文里可以對(duì)應(yīng)“我閉著眼睛也能…”。

　　例如：I haven't done many portraits, but I could paint landscapes in my sleep.

　　我畫的肖像畫不多，但是我閉著眼也能畫風(fēng)景。

　　3. Have money to burn

　　土豪說“燒錢”，英文里也用了burn哦。 “錢多到拿錢燒”，這么土豪，簡(jiǎn)單易記。那“花錢如流水”用英文怎么說呢?對(duì)了，就是 spend money like water.

　　4. keep somebody at arm's length

　　中文里咱們有“保持一臂距離”對(duì)吧，這么記就特別好記。

　　例如：He keeps all his clients at arm's length.

　　他和所有的客戶都保持距離。

　　5. (in) black and white

　　a)In a way that makes people or things seem completely bad or good, or completely right or wrong.

　　我們?cè)谠u(píng)論是非對(duì)錯(cuò)的時(shí)候，可能會(huì)聽到有人說“不分黑白”。英文里也用黑和白來指絕對(duì)的好和壞，對(duì)和錯(cuò)。

　　例如：It's a complex issue, but he only sees it in black and white.

　　這是個(gè)很復(fù)雜的問題，但是他只是非黑即白地來看它。

　　b)In writing or in print

　　中文里，尤其是在電視劇里，每次遇到“簽字畫押”情節(jié)，總能聽到“白紙黑字”是不?英文里也有對(duì)應(yīng)的含義。

　　例如：I never thought they'd put it in black and white on the front page.

　　我沒想到他們會(huì)把這白紙黑字地印在頭版上。

　　6. Shut / close your eyes to something

　　中文里咱們說“對(duì)……視而不見”，差不多就是這個(gè)意思。

　　You can't just close your eyes to his violence.

　　你不能對(duì)他的暴力行為視而不見。

　　They seem intent on shutting their eyes to the problems of pollution.

　　他們似乎打算對(duì)污染問題視而不見。

　　7. Two heads are better than one.

　　原來是“三個(gè)臭皮匠賽過諸葛亮”。其實(shí)還可以理解為“人多力量大”。

　　8. Be engraved on/ in your heart, memory, mind, etc.

　　深深地印在心里或者記憶里。

　　例如：The date of the accident remains engraved on my mind.

　　事情發(fā)生的那個(gè)日子已銘記在我心上。
