此外考生在備考和考試過程中還應(yīng)根據(jù)題型使用正確的閱讀方法：
1.略讀法(skimming)：略讀就是有所省略地讀，而不是逐字逐字地讀。不要花時間去琢磨難句和生詞而要把握文章的總體輪廓，領(lǐng)會文章的大意或中心思想。在閱讀時，考生可有意識地讀取段落主題句(topic sentences)，而段落主題句又可匯成整篇文章的中心思想。一般來說，主題句往往在各抉的段首或段尾。
2.掃讀法(scanning)：掃讀法也稱為查讀法(fast reading)、尋讀法(searching reading)、捷效閱讀法(expeditious reading)。這種方法的目的是找出某些特定信息或回答閱讀理解題需要的事實及依據(jù)。在對通篇文章疏而不漏的快速掃描中，迅速定位信息點，而和內(nèi)容無關(guān)或關(guān)系不大的部分則可一帶而過。
3.研讀法(scouring)：研讀法又稱細(xì)讀法(reading for full understanding)。研讀法是指在閱讀期間仔細(xì)研究篇章內(nèi)容，不僅要掌握文章的大致內(nèi)容，還要清楚了解和理解篇章涉及的一切細(xì)節(jié)。如在做BEC Vantage完形填空題時就應(yīng)采取這種方法。
閱讀第一部分應(yīng)試技巧―搭配題
(一)題型介紹
BEC Vantage閱讀第一部分屬于搭配題，要求考生將7個問題(Question 1一7)和4段文章(ABCD)進(jìn)行搭配�？忌喿x文章后，根據(jù)文章提供的信息與7個句子進(jìn)行搭配。4段文章總長度約為250～350字，大多是一些簡短的商務(wù)廣告，如培訓(xùn)課程、產(chǎn)品介紹等。
(二)解題技巧
這部分考題主要考查考生查找特定信息和具體細(xì)節(jié)的查讀能力(scanning)，但有時候個別句子會考查考生掌握文章主旨的能力。做這類題目時一定要仔細(xì)閱讀句子和4段文章的關(guān)鍵部分，尤其注意形容詞和副詞，這常常是判斷一個很難決定歸屬的句子該歸于哪篇文章的重要依據(jù)。此外，考生還應(yīng)注意以下幾點：
1.縮小尋找范圍：首先看清楚、讀懂7個句子，之后找到它們所涉及的內(nèi)容在文中的位置，這樣可以減少閱讀量，節(jié)省時間。
2.注意字句的形式變化：在文章中尋找答案的難度很大程度上取決于考生對字句的形式變化的認(rèn)識能力。需要注意三種形式：第一種是同義、相同的詞或詞組;第二種是近義、相似的詞;第三種是同義、有很大差異的詞或詞組。如：department stores=department stores(第一類)：joinedby=linked by(第二類)：walkways above and below the ground=over-the-street crossings andunderground walkways(第三類)
