聽力原文
(Text 1)
M: There is no way for me to win this competition.
W: Never say never.
(Text 2)
M :I hear you drive very far to work every day.
W: Yes. I live about sixty miles away, but it doesn’t seem that far. The road isn’t bad, and there’s not much traffic.
(Text 3)
W: If you’re going to read there, please turn on the light.
M:I can see, Mom.
W: But you’ll ruin your eyes that way. Now please go and switch on the light, or move to a brighter spot.
(Text 4)
M:Is there any chance that I could borrow your new book?
W: When will you return it?
M: Today is Monday, June 6th.How about Thursday afternoon?
W: Yes, I guess that would be all right.
(Text 5)
W: Wang Ping, are you going to the party tonight?
M: Where is it going to be?
W: At Xiao Mei’s. Our English teacher will be there, too.
M:OK. I’ll go. But how can I get there?
W: It’s about half an hour’s drive. I’ll take you there.
(Text 6)
M: Linda, glad to see you here. I’d like to invite you to my parents-house for a Thanksgiving turkey dinner the day after tomorrow.
W: Oh. I’d love to. Thank you, Sam. But I just told Paul Sullivan I’d be happy to go to his home on Thanksgiving.
M: Well, I see. I should have invited you earlier. How about coming over for Christmas dinner?
W: Yes, I’d love to.
M:OK, I’ll send you a little note with the details.
W: Thanks. I look forward to seeing you then.
(Text 7)
W: Can I help you, Sir?
M: Yes, I bought the clock last week. But I’m not satisfied with it.
W: Why? What is wrong with it?
M: Sometimes it goes fast, and sometimes it goes slow. And the alarm doesn’t work, either.
W: Would you like another one?
M: No, can I get my money back?
W: Hmm, have you got a receipt?
M: A receipt?
W: Yes, I must see your receipt. You can’t have your money back without a receipt.
M: Oh, I’m not certain. But I think I’ve lost it.
W: I’m sorry. I can’t pay back the clock until you give me the receipt.
(Text 8)
M: Let’s go and have lunch together.
W:OK!
M: By the way, I’m thinking of going to New Zealand around Christmas for three weeks. It’s such a beautiful country. I’ve never been there before.
W: Have you booked the flight?
M: Not yet. I’m planning to book my flight in two weeks-time.
W: Book your flight right now.
M: Why?
W: Because the longer you leave it, the more expensive it will be. As a matter of fact, the prices may double at Christmas time. New Zealanders usually go home for Christmas.
M: Then I’m going to book my flight tomorrow morning.
(Text 9)
M: I’m done in and must rest here.
W: Why? We just walked 5 km, and it is only half of the journey.
M:I have never walked such a long distance for several years.
W: How often do you take exercise?
M: I can’t remember when the last time I took exercise is. And I always hurry on with my bus in the morning. I have no time for doing it.
W: Oh, you should take exercise regularly and should have a well-balanced diet. I know you always go to bed after midnight, even more late. This is not a good habit.
M: You seem my mother at this moment.
W: No, I talk to you because I know that having good health is an important condition that you c an compete with others in your work.
M:OK, let’s go on. I don’t want to sit here and listen to your long speech.
W: Hey, come on. I just can’t stand your lifestyle. Taking exercise for an hour every day is good for your health.
(Text 10)
Education is one way to help the environment. You can learn about the environment in school. Radio and TV can give you information. Newspapers, magazine s, and books can also help you learn.
Laws can also help the environment. There are laws against littering and against making the air and water dirty. Other laws help people to save resources. The law lowering the speed of cars helps to save fuel. But people don’t have to wait for laws to be passed. They can do things on their own. They can protest against products that hurt the environment.
Another way to help the environment is to find new resources. In the future, people may heat their homes with atomic power. Maybe they will make full use of the energy from the sun.
Without planning, some kinds of environment may not exist. People can act now to help make the future.
