gre閱讀筆記
5月26日NYTIMES的國(guó)際頭條：IsraelApprovesBush‘sRoadMaptoNewPalestine．
這是關(guān)于中東路線圖以色列的最新態(tài)度的新聞，紐約時(shí)報(bào)開門見(jiàn)山的風(fēng)格顯而易見(jiàn)，開頭一句就是：TheIsraeligovernmentforthefirsttimeofficiallyacceptedaPalestinianclaimtoeventualstatehoodtoday，asPrimeMinisterAriel
Sharonpersuadedhisright-winggovernmenttoendorsethestepsofanewAmerican-backedpeaceplan，knownastheroadmap.我們寫GRE作文，開頭可不要繞來(lái)繞去啊!美國(guó)佬看紐約時(shí)代看慣了，可不喜歡你兜圈子啊!!!!!
接下來(lái)介紹了在此之前，Mr.Sharon發(fā)表了他的mostsweepingstatement，（sweeping這個(gè)詞不錯(cuò)喔！）引用他的話來(lái)說(shuō)，就是"ThedecisionImadeisbasedontherecognitionthatthemomenthascometocut，themomenthasarrivedtosay`yes‘totheAmericans，themomenthasarrivedtodividethistractoflandbetweenusandthePalestinians."
以色列的無(wú)奈之情從這一組句中可以體會(huì)．另外這篇文章也提到了Mr.Sharon有可能設(shè)置precondition.無(wú)獨(dú)有偶，同一天的WASHINGTONPOST在題目中就體現(xiàn)了precondition，它的題目是：PeacePlanBackedbyIsraelWithConditions.
它用了一個(gè)詞narrowly：TheIsraeligovernmentnarrowlyapprovedanewMiddleEastpeaceplantodaythatforthefirsttimeacceptsthecreationofaPalestinianstate.可見(jiàn)以色列政府內(nèi)部的`分歧。
順利成章，Butthedeeplydividedcabinetattachedkeyconditionstotheinitiativethatcouldmakeimplementationproblematicandultimatelydoomit.根據(jù)以往經(jīng)驗(yàn)，好象也沒(méi)有那么順利的事情，中東問(wèn)題麻煩著呢。
有幾個(gè)詞語(yǔ)值得收藏：attach(雖然知道這個(gè)詞，但用的時(shí)候我就不一定想得起來(lái)��！)/problematic/doom，關(guān)鍵還是怎樣運(yùn)用。接下來(lái)，看看NYtimesMagazine，里面有一篇關(guān)于EDMUNDHILLARY的訪談文章．我們都知道這些天，Everest成了世界的highlight，而作為首次登頂珠峰的希拉里當(dāng)然也成為了焦點(diǎn)。
這篇文章的題目是：ClimbOtherMountains顯然是otherthanEverest，這個(gè)題目非常implicative.
以下是第一段：

多年之后的回憶多少有點(diǎn)超脫的意味．連他們也沒(méi)有料到，從珠峰上下來(lái)之后，他們竟然從此走上了神壇．＂thepublicandthemediahadbuiltupabigsortofauraofheroiceffort.＂人是多么容易被publicandmedia所改變。
上面文章中提到了Sherpa(夏爾巴)TenzingNorgay（丹增），昨天剛看了南方電視臺(tái)的一個(gè)介紹誰(shuí)最先登頂珠峰的專題節(jié)目，為了這個(gè)問(wèn)題，EDMUNDHILLARY和TenzingNorgay后來(lái)似乎有不和的傾向。
Everest也許真的是一座神山，而這兩個(gè)人似乎觸怒了這座山，從此這兩個(gè)人的悲劇就開始了：HILLARY的母親和姐姐來(lái)看望他時(shí)候空難死在山腳；而TenzingNorgay（丹增）晚年酗酒，竟然說(shuō)，他寧愿他沒(méi)有登上過(guò)Everest．而HILLARY也說(shuō)：Aftertheexpedition，TenzingandIspentquitealotoftimetogether，butwenever，ever，talkedabouttheclimbupEverest.Idon‘tknowwhy.
這篇文字里有一句：He（丹增）diedin1986.MywifeandIweretheonlyforeignersathisfuneral.HILLARY也說(shuō)：Forme，well，itwassad，noquestion:Tenzinghadbeenaheroicfigure.這讓人覺(jué)得安慰．人們傳說(shuō)他們之間的不和畢竟讓人看了覺(jué)得不舒服。
而丹增在多年前公開承認(rèn)HILLARY先一步登頂?shù)挠職飧档脷J佩。
