英語(yǔ)演講小故事

A wolf was almost dead with hunger. A house-dog saw him, and asked, "Friend, your irregular life will soon ruin you.

"Why don't you work steadily as I do, and get your food regularly?"

"I would have no objection," said the wolf, "if I could only get a place." "I will help you," said the dog. "Come with me to my master, and you shall share my work."

So the wolf and the dog went to the town together.

On the way the wolf saw that there was no hair around the dog's neck.

He felt quite surprised, and asked him why it was like that?

"Oh, it is nothing," said the dog. "Every night my master puts a collar around my neck and chains me up. You will soon get used to it."

"Is that the only reason?" said the wolf. "Then good-bye to you, my friend. I would rather be free."

一只狼快要餓死了，一只狗看見(jiàn)后問(wèn)他：“你現(xiàn)在的無(wú)規(guī)律的生活一定會(huì)毀掉你，為什么不像我一樣穩(wěn)定地干活并有規(guī)律地獲得食物呢?”

狼說(shuō)：“如果我有個(gè)地方住，我沒(méi)有意見(jiàn)�！惫坊卮鹫f(shuō)：“跟我到主人那里去，我們一起工作。”于是狼和狗一起回到了村子。

在路上，狼注意到狗的脖子上有一圈沒(méi)有毛，他很奇怪地問(wèn)為什么會(huì)那樣。

“噢，沒(méi)有什么，”狗說(shuō)，“我的主人每天晚上都用一條鐵鏈子拴住我，你很快就會(huì)習(xí)慣的�！薄熬褪且�?yàn)檫@個(gè)原因嗎?”狼說(shuō)道，“那么，再見(jiàn)了，我的朋友，我寧愿選擇自由�！�

Going to the Sun During the Night When the Americans were getting ready to send their firstmen to the moon， an old Irishman was watching them on tele vision in the bar of a hotel. There was an Englishman in the bar too， and he said tothe Irishman，“The Americans are very clever， aren't they?They're going to send some men to the moon. It's a very longway from our world.” “Oh that's nothing，”the Irishman.answered quickly.“The Irish are going to send some men to the sun in a fewmonths’ time. That's much farther away than the moon， youknow.” The Englishman was very surprised when he heard this.“Oh， yes， it is.” he said，“but the sun's too hot for people togo to.” The Irishman laughed and answered.“Well，the Irish aren't stupid， you know. We won't go to the sun during theday， of course. We'll go there during the night.” 夜間到太陽(yáng)上去 當(dāng)美國(guó)人正準(zhǔn)備將他們第一批宇航員送上月球時(shí)，有一個(gè)上了年紀(jì)的愛(ài)爾蘭人在一家旅館的酒巴里正從電視中觀看著宇航員的壯舉。 在酒巴里還有一個(gè)英國(guó)人，他對(duì)那個(gè)愛(ài)爾蘭人說(shuō)：“美國(guó)人真聰明，是吧?他們就要將幾個(gè)人送上月球了。那兒離我們地球有好長(zhǎng)好長(zhǎng)的'一段路呢。” “嘔，那又有什么，”愛(ài)爾蘭人馬上回話(huà)說(shuō)�！霸龠^(guò)幾個(gè)月的時(shí)間愛(ài)爾蘭人要將一些人送到太陽(yáng)上去呢。你是知道的，那兒比月球要遠(yuǎn)得多了�！� 那英國(guó)人聽(tīng)了這番話(huà)，感到很吃驚，他說(shuō)：“噢，是的，是遠(yuǎn)得多了，不過(guò)太陽(yáng)太熱了，人們?nèi)ゲ涣四莾骸！?愛(ài)爾蘭人大笑起來(lái)，回答說(shuō)：“咳，你知道，愛(ài)爾蘭人可沒(méi)那么蠢。我們當(dāng)然不會(huì)在白天到太陽(yáng)上去。我們?cè)谝归g上太陽(yáng)那兒去。”
