英語單詞詞匯知識整理：concentrate與succeed

　　concentrate

　　concentrate作動詞,意為“集中,聚集”,常用于短語concentrate on sth./ doing sth., 意為“全神貫注于……,專心于……”。如:

　　He decided to concentrate on physics because he just failed the exam.

　　他決定專攻物理因為他剛剛考試不及格。

　　She concentrated on studying for the exam.

　　她為了考試而專心學(xué)習(xí)。

　　succeed

　　1. succeed意為“成功”,是不及物動詞,其后常跟in sth. / doing sth.。如:

　　Our plan succeeded! 我們的計劃成功了!

　　I hope you will succeed in your studies.

　　我希望你們的學(xué)習(xí)會取得成功。

　　They succeeded in solving the problem.

　　他們成功地解決了那個難題。

　　2. succeed的'名詞形式為success,作“成功,成就”講時,是不可數(shù)名詞;作“成功的人(或事物)”講時,是可數(shù)名詞。如:

　　He has had great success.

　　他取得了巨大的成就。

　　She wasn’t a success as a teacher.

　　她教書沒教出什么名堂。

　　3. succeed的形容詞形式為successful,意為“成功的,有成效的”。如:

　　We had a successful meeting yesterday.

　　昨天我們成功地召開了會議。
