德前總理施羅德離職后苦學(xué)英語的英語美文
德國前總理格哈德·施羅德離職后并不輕松。日前，他正在英格蘭和威爾士交界的一個(gè)小鎮(zhèn)上，為提高自己的英語水平進(jìn)行著不懈努力。不過，這位德國政壇曾經(jīng)的大忙人現(xiàn)在卻可以在學(xué)習(xí)之余，忙里偷閑地喝上一些自己鐘愛的.啤酒。
據(jù)法新社12月6日報(bào)道，11月22日，德國前總理施羅德正式離開總理府，讓位給德國歷史上首位女總理默克爾。日前，他正在威爾士蒙哥馬利鎮(zhèn)的一所18世紀(jì)建造的房子中苦學(xué)英語，而且課程安排一點(diǎn)也不輕松。對此，施羅德自己也坦白承認(rèn)，在他長達(dá)7年的總理任期中，自己的英語水平并不是很理想。
報(bào)道還說，除了下苦功提高自己的英語水平之外，現(xiàn)年61歲的施羅德在學(xué)習(xí)之余，偶爾還會到當(dāng)?shù)匾患揖瓢珊壬蠋妆【啤?/p>
離職后，施羅德曾于上個(gè)月宣布，將到瑞士規(guī)模最大的媒體集團(tuán)擔(dān)任顧問工作，主要負(fù)責(zé)一些“國際政治方面的問題”。
Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder is reportedly improving his English language skills and sinking a few pints of beer in a small town on the border of England and Wales.
Schroeder, who left office last month, is taking intensive lessons in the small Welsh town of Montgomery in an 18th century country house, the reports said.
The website of the company offering courses at the house promises lessons "for business and professional people".
Schroeder, 61, was also reported to be occasionally enjoying a pint at the local pub, The Dragon Hotel.
A member of staff at the pub told AFP she was not prepared to comment on the report. Schroeder freely admitted during his seven-year term in office that his English was not strong.
He announced last month that he was to work as an advisor to leading Swiss media group, Ringier, on "issues of international politics".
