  Teaching Aims:

  Knowledge aim: Students should master the basic use of the sentence where are you from Students can know how to answer the question where are you from.

  Students can use the sentence pattern in their daily life.

  Emotional aims: Students can improve their confidence through discussion and communication.

  Teaching Key Points: Students can master the use of the sentence where are you from.

  Teaching Difficult Points: how to use the sentence pattern in their daily life.

  Teaching Methods: communicative teaching method, audio-lingual method, situational teaching method and so on

  Teaching Aids: ppt, blackboard,

  Teaching Procedures:

  Step 1 Warming-up:

  a. Sing a song called little star with students. Students sing the song happily.

  b. Oral practice: free talk with students

  c. Play a game called bingo to review the words we have learnt yesterday and lead in the topic.

  Step 2 Presentations.

  Ask student how to say “你來(lái)自于那個(gè)國(guó)家”in Chinese. Students may understand easily and at the same time ,they can give their answer. Then ask them how to say it in English. They can’t answer. So show the sentence on the blackboard. Where are you from? Then explain the sentence. And then tell students there is a phrase called be from which means come from.

  Then ask students to try to answer the question in their own way. Students may answer, I come from China.

  Step 3 Practice. Ask students to make a conversation with the sentence.

  Select one or two group to present their answers.

  Ask students to do a multiple choice

  Where ____ you from? A. is B. are C. am

  Step 4 Production Do a survey about where are you from. And show it in front of the class.

  Step 5 Summary and homework

  Ask a student to retell what we have learnt today.

  Make a dialogue with their parents by using what we have leant.
