學(xué)無止境放在語言翻譯中，再適合不過了。文化背景等等的不同要求我們在翻譯時(shí)，切忌生搬硬套。下面這片雷區(qū)，你能成功掃雷嗎？
1永遠(yuǎn)記住你rememberyouforever不對，因?yàn)闆]有人能活到forever，而應(yīng)該是alwaysrememberyou。
2黃頭發(fā)不是yellowhair，而應(yīng)該是blond/blonde，西方人沒有yellowhair的說法。
3廁所絕對不是WC或者toilet，這些是馬桶和茅坑的說法，假想一下，你對老外說，不好意思，請問茅坑在哪里？你說話是不是過于灑脫，尺度太大了？正解應(yīng)該是men'sroom/women'sroom/restroom/powderroom等。
4還有些很過時(shí)的已經(jīng)可以入土的說法，比如真遺憾不要再用it'sapity，用that'stoobad/it'sashame更流行些，還有褲子不要用trousers了，而是pants/slacks/jeans。馬馬虎虎最好用average/fair/allright/nottoobad/OK(西方人很少使用so-so)，提到好吃不要只能反應(yīng)出一個(gè)單詞，就是delicious，可以多用用yummy/nice/tasty/appetizing等。
5還有些在國外只有小孩子才用的過于孩子氣的說法也應(yīng)該避免使用，比如再見用bye-bye不好，直接用bye/seeyou/seeyoulater/later比較合適。再比如面條，少用孩子氣的noodles，而最好用pasta。
6一些公共場合的用語也是同學(xué)最不會(huì)翻譯的，比如“小心臺階”被翻成“payattentiontothesteps”而非正確的“mindthesteps”。再比如姚明如果去你家作客，應(yīng)該說“mindyourhead”才對。
7再比如這一系列的句子：我感到很痛不是Iampainful.而應(yīng)該是Ifeelgreatpain.注意，“我感到高興”是Iamhappy，“我感到累了”是I'mtired，但“我感到很痛”卻不是Iampainful。因?yàn)閜ainful表示“使人痛苦的，讓人疼痛或討厭的”，它的主語往往不是人，而是事物或人體的某個(gè)部位，如：Thefootispainful(腳痛)，Thelessonsarepainful(教訓(xùn)是慘痛的)等。所以沒有Iampainful這個(gè)說法，如果你非要這樣說，別人會(huì)以為你全身帶電或渾身長刺，別人碰了你就會(huì)疼，是你讓別人痛苦，而不是你自己痛苦。
8亞洲四小龍。

注意：在我國古代傳說中，龍是降雨和懲治妖魔鬼怪的神奇動(dòng)物，是吉祥和力挽狂瀾的象征。很多漢語成語與“龍”有關(guān)，如“龍飛鳳舞”、“龍鳳呈祥”、“藏龍臥虎”等，而且多為褒義詞。但如果把“四小龍”直譯成英文卻不行，因?yàn)槲鞣饺藢Α褒垺钡穆?lián)想和看法與中國人完全不同�！褒垺�(dragon)在西方是貶義詞，是邪惡的象征，西方人不會(huì)理解為什么要把亞洲經(jīng)濟(jì)的四個(gè)強(qiáng)國說成“四個(gè)小魔鬼”，所以要用tiger進(jìn)行替換。在西方人眼里，tiger是“朝氣蓬勃、堅(jiān)忍不拔、充滿希望”的免征，所以用tiger才能準(zhǔn)確表達(dá)原文的意思。9百里挑一。

注意：漢語用“百”，而英語則以十倍于百的“thousand”來夸張。同樣，漢語的“十分感謝”或“萬分感謝”，英語則說“athousandthanks(千分感謝)”或“thanksamilliontimes”(百萬次的感謝)�？梢姡⒄Z比漢語要夸張。這也許反映了兩個(gè)民族不同的思維方式：中國人崇尚中庸之道，凡事避免走極端，即使夸大其詞也不太過火；而英美人追求標(biāo)新立異和充分考慮表現(xiàn)自我，這在語言中自然也有體現(xiàn)。
10干杯！要一飲而荊

[正]---Cheers!Bottomsup.
注：bottomsup雖然只比bottomup多一個(gè)s，但是兩個(gè)詞組的意思卻相差十萬八千里。bottomsup里的bottom是指“(酒杯的)底部”，那么杯朝天就是“一飲而頸的意思，而且因?yàn)楦杀瓡r(shí)肯定不止一人一飲而盡，所以要用復(fù)數(shù)；而bottomup表示“屁股朝天”，如果說錯(cuò)了就丑大了。
11.嘿，小伙子，千萬別灰心。

[正]Hey,lad,don'tloseheart.
注意：loseone'sheart(tosb.)是“心被...俘虜去，愛上...”的意思，而loseheart才表示“灰心喪氣，喪失勇氣或信心”。

一、在同聲傳譯活動(dòng)中對譯員的要求
1、同聲傳譯要求譯員有良好的聽覺解意能力。同聲傳譯是一種即聽即譯的活動(dòng)，聽入與譯出之間只保持幾秒鐘的時(shí)間距離，譯員在口頭傳譯幾秒鐘前聽到的信息的同時(shí)，還必須耳聽及解譯新的信息。因此這種聽覺解意能力非同一般意義的耳聽會(huì)意能力，它指的是一種譯員在有自我干擾的環(huán)境下及時(shí)聽解信息的能力。
但是譯員的聽解并非完全是一種被動(dòng)的行為，譯中可以從大會(huì)的主題、發(fā)言者的立嘗發(fā)言論題或論點(diǎn)的背景知識等示意因素，使自己的聽譯建筑在"上下文"的基礎(chǔ)上，進(jìn)而變被動(dòng)聽譯為主動(dòng)聽譯。
2、同聲傳譯要求譯員具備在聽解的同時(shí)有迅速組織句子進(jìn)行連貫流暢表達(dá)的能力。也許有人會(huì)認(rèn)為，漢語是我們的母語，因此英譯漢的困難在于能否及時(shí)聽懂英語內(nèi)容，不在于如何有漢語來組句和表達(dá)。這完全是對口譯工作的一種誤解。組句表達(dá)，無論是以外語還是以母語進(jìn)行，都是一門學(xué)問，一種才能，尤其是在需要顧及聽的內(nèi)容的情況下。
二、同聲傳譯的一些基本方法和技巧
1、意譯
同聲傳譯即聽即譯的特點(diǎn)，迫使譯員不得不"一心二用"，使譯員在翻譯過程中難以做到"形""意"兩全。此外，譯員在同步傳譯時(shí)迫于時(shí)間壓力，也無法對目標(biāo)語的表達(dá)形式斟詞酌句一番。在"形""意"難以兩全的情況下，譯員應(yīng)采用意譯的方法，以簡潔的語言迅速將來源語所包含的概念和命題傳達(dá)給聽眾。
2、順譯
順譯是指一種順著來源語的詞序，按部就班地選擇目標(biāo)語的對應(yīng)詞進(jìn)行傳譯的方法。這里所講的順譯僅限于順結(jié)構(gòu)、順詞序的傳譯，不包括詞詞對應(yīng)的順譯。漢語和英語的基本句子結(jié)構(gòu)均為"主-動(dòng)-賓"結(jié)構(gòu)，限定詞（如數(shù)詞和所有格代詞）和形容詞一般也都出現(xiàn)在名詞前面，這為英漢順譯或漢英順譯提供了必要的條件。
3、截句
截句是指譯員在同聲傳譯過程中及時(shí)、適時(shí)截?cái)鄟碓凑Z的長句，并按照目標(biāo)語的表達(dá)習(xí)慣，將所聽到的信息分解成短句，或重組成聯(lián)句，然后傳譯過去。
